Issues: Top 5

). Economy: Create more small business driven services, focused on development of local business owners and success stories. Guarantee and secure "Employable Land" that will attract Corporate Canada and off-set taxes, putting money and resources back into local businesses pockets.

). Taxes: Federal and provincial governments keep dictating to municipalities on when and where our taxes need to be increased and combined together. We as Bramptonians need to rise and have our voice heard, while challenging their interference in our development. As council we need to evaluate where our taxes dollars need to come from, in which level should we tax and what the increase needs to be used against instead of always putting it toward deficits. The City will always have resource to contribute towards our debt, so let's put any additional financial injections we get towards our greatest assets, the families of Brampton.

). Health Care: We need our second hospital as the Provincial government promised us in September 2007. With a population growing closer and closer to 500,000 it is unthinkable that we have ONLY one viable medical facility to offer Bramptonians. It is great that we as a city have committed to 60 million dollars towards PMH, now we need to proactively and aggressively move towards getting shovels in the ground. With BCH only operating at 60% or less, as a father and family man, I stand with the families of Brampton by saying enough is enough, gives us concrete dates on which we will see forward movement on this health care facility.

). Educational Facilities: As much as schools are a Regional issue, we as city councillors need to be aware of how the current over-crowding affects the families of Brampton. We need to come to the table with the Regional authorities and evaluate the options which we can take to reduce the overcrowding while ensuring the integrity to our world class curriculum that our hard-working teachers and administration offer everyday to our students, our future leaders.

). Seniors: With much of our population heading or entering into their golden years, more of our Bramptonians are becoming seniors. This means fixed incomes and having to watch every penny in and out of their banks accounts. I propose some relief, help in reducing some of their day to day stress. I want to encourage our senior Bramptonians to attend more social events, visit our newly renovated Bramalea City Centre and to get out and experience our great city and the historical landmarks. The only way to do this is to provide them with easy access. That is why I would like to see free transportation for ALL seniors 65 and over, Monday to Friday off peak hours and all hours Saturday and Sunday. As council, if we review all of the services Brampton offers, I am confident that we will be able to allocate funds towards this great offer without hurting the integrity of the other services we offer to Bramptonians.
